BCTG to help expanding barbers group to train new staff
A leading West Midlands barbers business has linked up with top training group BCTG to provide a range of government-backed career opportunities.
The Hipster Group was launched in 2017 and has since expanded to operate from five venues across the West Midlands in Leamore, Rushall, Short Heath, Streetly and Walsall.
BCTG will now be working with the Hipster Group to provide a range of training programmes that will be funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency.
Mandy Pyne, a director of Hipsters, said: “We are pleased to be working with the BCTG Group to provide a range of study programmes, traineeships and apprenticeships in hairdressing, barbering and customer service.
“We have many years of experience in hairdressing, barbering and customer service.
“As such we are well equipped to provide high quality, bespoke training utilising our experienced tutors and assessors.”
Chris Luty is the chief executive of Oldbury-based BCTG, which supports almost 10,000 young people and adults with training each year.
He said: “We’re delighted to be helping the Hipster Group with their structured training plans as they continue to expand their business.
“It’s great to be working with a business that takes the development of proper career opportunities so seriously.”
